Mrs. Jo Ann (Baygent) Cochran went to be with her Lord on Friday morning, June 16,attheageof92. She lived for the past year at Double Creek Assisted Living in Round Rock, TX. Mrs. Cochran was born in Leesville, LA, the daughter of Margaret Mylinda (Pevehouse) Baygent (born in Navarro County, TX) and Robert Chris Baygent (born in Enterprise, LA of Catahoula Parish). The Baygent family members were long-time residents of Grayson, LA, living previously in Slagle, LA, and later in Houston, TX. Jo Ann graduated from Grayson High School (1946) and from Louisiana Baptist College in Pineville (1949) where she met her husband Robert Joe Cochran of Titus County, TX. The couple married at Grayson Baptist Church on December 22, 1949. Mrs. Cochran later received her Master’s degree in Education from East Texas State University in Commerce. Mr. Cochran passed away on March 1, 1997, when the couple lived in Mt. Pleasant, TX, where they were long-time residents.
