Perfect running conditions and the cool fall air gave the Mount Pleasant Tigers the boost they needed to run away with the win at the Pine Tree Puddle Jump and Pig Trot on Friday. The race was held at Lear Park in Longview with both the boys and girls teams finishing well.
The Mount Pleasant Tiger football program was finally able to compete on the field Thursday night at Sulphur Springs after a multi-week delay to their season. Per UIL, 5A and 6A high schools had to delay their season to help monitor the spread of COVID 19. Normally, Mount Pleasant would have already played at least 3 games. Despite the delay, the Tigers impressed on the field as you could tell they were hungry for some live action.
The first MPHS home football game between the Tigers and Wylie East is set for Friday, September 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Sam Parker Stadium. General admission ticket sales will take place at the MPISD Administration Building (2230 N. Edwards Ave.) on the following schedule:
The Chapel Hill Cross Country teams took their talents and speed this past Thursday to Mineola faring extremely well.
The Mount Pleasant High School cross country team opened their season last Thursday and Friday at Hallsville.
