February 3, 1947 – August 24, 2024
In a calm and peaceful setting while surrounded by family, Dianne (Seaton) Owens entered the Gates of Heaven and was embraced in a joyous reunion with her son, Robert Dwayne Wilson, who took her in his arms and led her to their everlasting home. As they entered the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, they were joined by loving family members who had preceded them. The joyous celebration included Dianne’s father and mother, Robert Wallace and Ida Mae Seaton; brother, Buddy Seaton; brother and wife, Jerry and Helen Seaton; brother-in-law, Bill Shaw; brother-in-law, Laney Gaddis; and brother- in-law, Larry Aquilina. Though hearts of those close to her are broken, a sense of happiness, partnered with unfailing faith and trust in Christ, drapes over the family knowing that she is in her forever home and rejoicing gracefully with family.
During her lifetime, Dianne achieved abounding accomplishments, both personally and professionally, impacting many lives. The medical field was a calling early in adulthood where she performed services in many areas, ranging from x-ray technology to administrative assistance. After seven years in the medical field, career concentration for her changed and became directed towards the area of real estate. Dianne obtained her real estate and certified appraiser licenses and joined the Titus County Appraisal District, serving the community for twenty years. She was elected as the Titus County Clerk in 2011 and supported the county well until the end of her term in 2014. Over the previous six years leading up to this moment, she proudly sat on the Board of Directors for the Titus County Fresh Water District.
In her personal life, she was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church and was blessed to be part of the Butch Shipp Sunday School class. Dianne and Joyce regularly attended church functions and Sunday School parties, enjoying time together with friends. They also had regular game nights with friends outside of the church where time was spent playing dominoes and breaking bread with those close to them.
She is survived by her loving husband of twelve years, William Joyce Owens, and son, Royce Wilson. Through her union with Joyce, she was also blessed with son and wife, William “Bill” and Amy Owens; son and wife, Troy and Jana Owens; and daughter and husband, Julie (Owens) and James Nugent; grandson and wife, Nemen and Cynthia Wilson; granddaughter, Taylor Wilson; grandson, Alec Wilson; granddaughters through union, Kylie Owens, Shelbi Nugent, and Alex Anne Owens; grandson through union, Travis Owens; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Seaton; brother and wife, Bobby and Vicky Seaton; sister, Carol (Seaton) Shaw; sister, Jeannie (Seaton) Redfearn; sister, Shirley (Seaton) Gaddis; sister, Nancy (Seaton) Aquilina; sister, Betty Seaton; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Dianne will be conducted by Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home and held at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas on Wednesday, August 26, 2024. Dr. Clint Davis will officiate the service. Members of the community are welcome to join the family at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday for visitation and remembrance, followed by a formal service at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Graveside services will be held at Coopers-Chapel Cemetery immediately following the gathering at First Baptist Church.
For many months, the family has received prayers and thoughts from many friends throughout the community. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for your caring, generous gestures and would like to ask that you continue praying for us in the days to come.
