The Mount Pleasant high school and junior high cross-country teams traveled to Hallsville last weekend in their third meet of the year. The varsity boys took third place with three top ten finishers and the JV girls took first place with four runners finishing in the top ten.

Lady Tiger Volleyball Secures First District Win

Early season tensions were finally eased on Tuesday evening as the Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger volleyball team came back from a 2-1 deficit versus Marshall to win their first district game since 2020 with game scores of 25-20, 22-25, 20-25, 25-22, and 1513.

The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce fielded eight teams in their inaugural softball tournament on Saturday. Teams played a total of 19 games and ended the day with the TRMC team winning the championship trophy and the Diamond C team coming in as runner up.

The Northeast Texas Community College Softball team hit the road to Arkansas on Tuesday, September 13thto take on Southern Arkansas Community College to open the fall season. The Eagles would earn the sweep against the SACC Stars with an 8-0 game one win and 5-2 win in game 2.

The Northeast Texas Community College men’s soccer team played their first two home games of the season against Coastal Bend College and LSU-Eunice. As the new season gets underway, first year NTCC Head Coach JD Perales anticipates his team to be competitive this year.

Chapel Hill Cross Country continues to keep running away with accolades. Last Saturday, runners competed at Harts Bluff ISD. Varsity boys runner Lucas Thomas placed 3rd with a time of 16:58. Two additional top twenty runners were Dylan Olvera 16th, and Roberto Netro 19th.
