The Harts Bluff Bulldog basketball teams found themselves in the midst of a small school battle at the James Bowie Tournament over the weekend.

Prairiland edges Lady Rebels in oncourt “Battle of 271”

The “Battle of 271” between Rivercrest and Prairiland is usually a competitive affair, regardless of the sport, that comes down to the wire. Tuesday’s girls’ basketball version was no different.

Hawks keep rolling against Chargers

The CHAAMP men’s varsity basketball team hosted East Texas Homeschool Sports (ETHS) for a district clash in Winfield on Monday night. The Hawks controlled the pace of the game for the entire contest en route to a 55-45 win.

12 Lady Tiger volleyball players named all-district

In their first year under head coach Kristy Ciuba, the Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger volleyball team made an impact both on the court and in the classroom. A total of 12 Lady Tigers were recognized on the recently announced 15-5A All-District team. Named to the first team was Aziyah Farrier.

Devils finish strong in win over All Saints

The Chapel Hill Red Devils picked up another win on the road Tuesday night, using a 23-point fourth quarter to push past All Saints, 71-61. Five Red Devils scored in double figures, led by Braden Buchanan’s 19 points. Isaac Bailey added 14.

Rebels roll past L-K

The Rivercrest Rebels hit the road Tuesday, traveling to Linden to take on Linden-Kildare. In a physical test, the Rebels passed with flying colors, defeating the Tigers, 45-25. Dylan Earley led the Rebels with 13 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Hot second half shooting leads Rebels past Brahmas

Two local neighbors met on the hardwood the day after Thanksgiving as Pewitt traveled to Rivercrest for an afternoon matinee. Despite coming in with just seven players, Pewitt started the game strong as the two teams were deadlocked in the first half.

MPHS Bass Fishing Team competes on Lake O’ the Pines

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team continued their regular season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake O’ the Pines on November 19. Out of 27 teams at the tournament, MPHS placed 7th as a whole.

Tiger Basketball sweeps Greenville

Basketball season is finally in full swing as all three teams for Mount Pleasant Basketball finally hit the court traveling to Greenville on Saturday. The Tigers were looking to continue their winning ways after bringing home the Mavs Falls Classic trophy before the Thanksgiving break.
