Devils 4-1 in Edgewood, win Tuesday over Brahmas

The Chapel Hill Red Devils traveled to Edgewood for the annual Jack Shellnutt Invitational Tournament, finishing 4-1 for the event. The Devils suffered their lone loss in their opening game, falling in overtime against Paris, 70-64. Braden Buchanan led the Red Devils with 13 points.

Lady Rebels 3rd at Celeste Tourney, meet Bonham three times in six days

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels traveled to Celeste last weekend to take part in the Celeste Tournament, finishing third after going 3-1 for the weekend. The Lady Rebels opened the tournament against Cumby, falling just short in a seesaw battle, 54-51.

Just a few days after an impressive showing at the Red River Hoopfest that saw them roll past Oklahoma 6A Putnam City West by 33 points, the 19th-ranked Mount Pleasant Tigers returned to the comforts of home, where they ran into another ranked team.

The second annual Red River Hoopfest took place last weekend on the campus of Texas High School and the Mount Pleasant Tigers joined up with some of the top teams from Texas and surrounding states to put on a great event.

Ranked Lady Tigers claim Royse City title; roll past Paris

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers not only brought home more hardware last week – they came home with a number next to their name. The Lady Tigers, undefeated on the season, traveled to Royse City last weekend, claiming the Royse City Tournament title, their second tournament title of the season.

Rebels have 11 players named all-district

A year after missing out on a playoff berth by a single point, the Rivercrest Rebels bounced back to reach the postseason this past football season. The effort did not go unnoticed, as a total of 11 Rebels were named to the 9-2A Div.

MPHS Speech and Debate competes at Longhorn Classic

The Mount Pleasant High School Speech and Debate team competed at the Longhorn Classic on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin on December 2-4. The tournament featured 111 schools from 10 states.

Harts Bluff to send 16 to state competition

Last Friday, Harts Bluff ISD sent 16 students to compete in the TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) Area 6 competition. All of the students worked tirelessly to prepare and present their projects. Out of 16 students who competed, 10 students qualified for the State TAFE competition.

Big 3rd quarter helps Hawks handle Sulphur Bluff

The Christian Homeschool Athletic Association of Mt Pleasant (CHAAMP) Hawks snagged their seventh win of the season with a 27 point win on their home court in Winfield this past Friday night The Hawks (7-0, 3-0) beat the Sulphur Bluff Bears 69-42, running away with the contest in the second half.
