Tigers go 1-1-1 in games last week

The Mount Pleasant Tiger baseball team had a week in which they not only experienced every general outcome to a game, they may have done so in a week that showcased every possible weather pattern. The Tiger finished last week 1-1-1 in their three games.

Rivercrest track squads 8th and 6th at HG Warrior Relays

The Rivercrest track teams put on the spikes for the first time in 2022 at the Honey Grove Warrior Relays, held Thursday. Joining the Rebels and Lady Rebels were the host Warriors, North Lamar, Chisum, Bland, Fannindel, Sam Rayburn, Prariland, Wolfe City and Trenton.

Tigers roll in MP Invitational, Lady Tigers 4th

After strong performances at Texas High’s Watty Myers Relays, the Mount Pleasant track teams welcomed five other schools to Sam Parker Field for the annual Mount Pleasant Invitational track meet. Joining the Tigers and Lady Tigers were Pittsburg, Marshall, Pleasant Grove, Paris and Hallsville.

Lady Tiger Lifters qualify for State

Last Thursday, the Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger powerlifters traveled to Pine Tree for the Division 1 Region 3 Powerlifting Meet. Freshman newcomer Jasmine Landaverde competed in the 123-lb class and got the meet started as the Lady Tigers first lifter.

MPHS Bass Fishing Teams qualify for Regionals

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team finished the regular season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Bob Sandlin on Saturday, March 5. At the end of the regular season, MPHS has qualified two teams for Regionals.

Tiger soccer races past Lobos, tied for first in district

With an opportunity to play their way back into first place, the Mount Pleasant soccer team scored on a penalty kick and added two second half goals to pick up a 3-0 win on the road at Longview to avenge an early-season loss and play their way into a tie for first place with the Lobos at 9-1 in district play. The Tigers have two regular season games remaining: at home against Texas High Friday and at Marshall next Tuesday.

Pewitt, CH teams open track season at Sibley Relays

Track season kicked off in Morris County Friday at the annual Doug Sibley Brahma Relays, held Friday at Pewitt’s Brahma Stadium. Joining the host Brahmas and Lady Brahmas were Bloomburg, Chapel Hill, DeKalb, Hughes Springs, James Bowie, New Boston, Pittsburg, Queen City and Winnsboro.
