MPHS UIL competes in College Station

The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Calculator, Math, Accounting, Current Events, and Spelling teams traveled to College Station for the A&M Consolidated UIL Invitational on February 24-25.

Rivercrest Boys

The Rivercrest Rebels had to battle in a tough district race to make the playoffs, but they did, splitting the season series with Maud and Harts Bluff and sweeping Detroit while also troubling co-district champions Clarksville and James Bowie to reach the playoffs.

Chapel Hill Girls

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils advanced to the regional finals this season and reached a high ranking of 11th in the state. Only two teams beat the Lady Devils in their last 24 games – Tenaha, who advanced to their own regional tournament and Winnsboro – who advanced to the state tournament.

Chapel Hill Boys

The Chapel Hill Red Devils reached a high ranking of eighth in the state with a winning streak of 29 games. A year after sharing the district title, the Red Devils won it outright this season, going undefeated in district play.

Mount Pleasant Girls

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers reached a high ranking of fourth in class 5A and won 36 consecutive games.

Rivercrest Girls

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels shared a district title with Clarksville and had win streaks of nine and seven games after a tough start to the year. Out of the Lady Rebels 20 wins on the year, 15 came by double digits. Out of their 13 losses, six came by single digits.

Mount Pleasant Boys

The Mount Pleasant Tiger reached a high TABC ranking of fourth in class 5A and won 34 consecutive games. This season alone, Payton Chism scored his 1,500th point, Kelcey Morris surpassed the 1,000 career point mark and Head Coach Joey Chism won his 200th career game.

Lady Devils advance to regional tourney this weekend

The 21st-ranked Chapel Hill Lady Devils find themselves on a mission to end basketball season partying like it’s 2019. Chapel Hill took two steps closer to their ultimate goal with wins in the area and regional quarterfinal rounds Friday and Monday nights.

Lady Devils head to regional tourney with familiar foe among state-ranked competition

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils won a state title in 2019 and are hoping to return to those heights in 2023. To do so, the Lady Devils will hope for a win in the regional tournament, which kicked off Friday at Prosper High School.
