The Rivercrest Rebels had to battle in a tough district race to make the playoffs, but they did, splitting the season series with Maud and Harts Bluff and sweeping Detroit while also troubling co-district champions Clarksville and James Bowie to reach the playoffs. The Rebels were replacing the team’s two leading scorers from last season and were younger than recent years, but Coach Quincy English’s team typically battled until the end of games, including an exciting double overtime win over 4A Pittsburg and acquitted themselves well in a playoff loss to 12th-ranked North Hopkins. The Rebel JV went undefeated in district play, providing hope for the next few years that the tradition will continue. Team members are seniors Chase Duffer, Dylan Earley, Noah Altal, Gavin Bishop and Zane Dees; junior Tre Williams and sophomores Kayden Skaggs, Cayden Williams, Mark Grider, Cameron Lowe and JaQuan Brown.
