MPHS Tigers qualify for Lineman Challenge State Championships

Twelve Mount Pleasant High School Tiger football team members will attend the Lineman Challenge State Championships on June 25 in Abilene after qualifying earlier this month. Team members have attended two Lineman Challenge events this summer competing against linemen from other schools in various challenges such as bench press reps, tractor tire flip, and sled pushes.

Cluley named MPISD athletic director

Mount Pleasant athletics will have a new leader in 2022. MPISD announced this week that head football coach and assistant athletic director Joe Cluley will take over as the district athletic director for the upcoming school year.

MP Youth Football Camp July 11-13

The Mount Pleasant football program is doing its part to build up the “#Family.” The annual Mount Pleasant Tiger Youth Football Camp will take place from 1-3 p.m. July 11-13 at Sam Parker Field.

Rebel football camp June 27-28

Future classes of Rivercrest Rebels will get the opportunity to roam The Swamp and learn or hone up on the fundamentals during the annual Rivercrest football camp. The camp is for incoming 2nd-8th graders and will take place June 27-28.

MPHS Fishing celebrates end of successful season

The Mount Pleasant High School Fishing Team recently celebrated the end of a great season with a banquet honoring all of the team members and boat captains for 21-22. Each team member left with a new rod and a bag full of tackle.

Work4College Program returns for 9th summer

For the 9th consecutive year, NTCC is hosting the summer Work4College program. Over 10-weeks, students in the program have the opportunity to work in 27 different areas across 5 different campuses to earn income for their future NTCC education.

FAFSA Day planned

The NTCC Career and Transfer Team will host a FAFSA Day event on Tuesday, June 21. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in BT 111. Staff will be available to assist students with completing their FAFSA application, so please bring parent(s) and student 2020 W2s and tax returns. Zoe Craven named Longview Orthopaedic Clinic Collegiate Athlete of the Year

Northeast Texas Community College Women’s Soccer athlete and student Athletic Trainer Zoe Craven has been named the 2021-2022 Longview Orthopaedic Clinic Collegiate Athlete of the Year. As a previous winner of Athlete of the week she was selected as Collegiate Athlete of the year after a vote that was open to the public. Doug Bloyd, Athletic Trainer at Longview Orthopaedic Clinic said, “Over 15,000 Votes were cast in the Facebook voting poll this year.”
