Befitting of a district that came down to the final two games of the regular season to decide its playoff teams and overall top seed, District 16-2A’s schools had strong representation on the boys all-district team.
Harts Bluff claimed a superlative award and six slots on the boys all-district team while Rivercrest claimed eight slots on the all district team.
Harts Bluff ’s Avyn Carrington was named district Newcomer of the Year.
Bulldogs and Rebels recognized on the all district first team were Harts Bluff’s Ashyr Carrington and Rivercrest’s Tre Williams and Zane Dees.
Also named to the first team were Clarksville’s Nikereion Marcy and Romeo Minter; Maud’s Rip Thomas; Detroit’s Cloedus Scales and James Bowie’s Lane Johnson, Logan McCullough and Clay Allen.
Named to the second team were Rivercrest’s Mark Grider and Harts Bluff ’s Matthew Rowland.
Also making the second team were Clarksville’s R.K. Minter and Jamarion Williams; Maud’s Brock Windham and James Bowie’s Brayden Klimaszewski Honorable mention for the Rebels were Noah Altal and Dylan Earley. Honorable mention for the Bulldogs were Kayden Mason, Cayden James and Layken Adair.
Joining them were Maud’s Devin Myrtle, Micah Bishop and Trentyn Sisson; James Bowie’s Aiden Sellers, Zack Dukes and Jason Kelly and Detroit’s Preston Roberts.
Academic all-district players were Rivercrest’s Earley, Altal, Grider, Dees, Tre Williams, Cayden Williams, Gavin Bishop and Chase Duffer; Harts Bluff ’s James, Mason, Rowland, Adair, Avyn Carrington and Brayden Craddock; Maud’s Myrtle, BIshop, Sisson, Thomas, Windham, Cyrus Palmore and Jayden Munoz; James Bowie’s Johnson, Dukes, Sellers, Klimaszewski, Mc-Cullough, Allen and Cody Grasse and Detroit’s Jaylon Cuington.
District MVP was James Bowie’s Cody Grasse. Offensive MVP was Clarksville’s Zion Banks and Defensive MVP went to Maud’s Lane Sultz. Maud’s Jayden Munoz was 6th Man of the Year and district co-champion coaches Willy McDonald ( James Bowie) and Stanford Hill (Clarksville) were named co-Coaches of the Year.
