Tuesday night was a great night to be at the ballpark on “The Hill.” Visiting teams from Fruitvale, North Lamar and Bloomburg brought out big crowds in the Chapel Hill home openers. Junior high softball saw an unprecedented performance by pitcher Addysyn Billings.

Sports Editor The next generation of Tigers had an impressive showing at Sam Parker Field Thursday. The Mount Pleasant freshmen rolled to a 26-0 victory over Liberty-Eylau in their second home game of the year.

Moore returns to roots to begin coaching career

Eight years ago, the foundation was being laid for what is now one of the most successful Mount Pleasant Tiger Basketball programs in school history as well as a reputable program across the state. A key cornerstone in that foundation was 2017 graduate James Moore who has now returned to his alma mater to continue the legacy he helped begin.

The Tiger cross country team continued their strong start to the season coming off a second-place finish last week to take the top spot on the podium this past Saturday at the Nicole Leman Invitational held on the campus of LeTourneau University.

Tiger Tennis sweeps Marshall to open season

The Mount Pleasant Tiger tennis team had an encouraging start to their year as they began their fall season on Thursday at Marshall. The first semester season consists of team tennis which has each player competing in a singles and doubles match. Mount Pleasant went a perfect 12-0 winning every match they played against the Mavericks.

Lady Tigers fall in five-set battle against Paris

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tiger volleyball team returned to the Willie Williams Gym Friday for just their second home game of the season. The Lady Tigers took on Paris looking to continue their recent success after winning the Mount Vernon Tournament.

Harleton holds off Rivercrest for 12-9 decision

It wasn’t the offensive game that last year’s meeting was – although the primary mode of offense was the same as the previous meeting. Rivercrest took on Harleton in their home opener at The Swamp for the second consecutive year and the Wildcats used their rushing attack to edge the Rebels, 12-9.

Lady Rebels romp past Quinlan Boles

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels returned home to take on Quinlan Boles Friday. It was a happy return home as the Lady Rebels defeated the Lady Hornets, 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-16).
