MPHS fishing team qualifies for THSBA state

Two Mount Pleasant High School Fishing teams were back on the water on Saturday, April 15 at Cedar Creek for the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) Regional tournament. MPHS qualified one team for the state tournament.

Sisters Diana (left) and Selena Kelley of Rivercrest won the 2A Region II girls’ doubles title at their regional tournament this week in North Richland Hills. The duo will advance to the state tennis tournament at San Antonio’s Blossom Tennis Center April 25.

Harts Bluff, Rivercrest combine to send 33 athletes to area track meet

The upcoming 15-16 2A Area Track Meet will have a distinct local flavor. Both local schools in District 16-2A, Harts Bluff and Rivercrest, competed well at the district meet and each will send a contingent of athletes to the area meet next week in Cooper.

Last Friday, The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs pulled off another first. The Lady Bulldogs won on the road at Maud, picking up the program’s first season sweep of a district opponent. Harts Bluff won over the Lady Cardinals at home back on March 7, 19-9.
