The Northeast Texas Community College Softball team hit the road to Arkansas on Tuesday, September 13thto take on Southern Arkansas Community College to open the fall season. The Eagles would earn the sweep against the SACC Stars with an 8-0 game one win and 5-2 win in game 2.

Chapel Hill Cross Country continues to keep running away with accolades. Last Saturday, runners competed at Harts Bluff ISD. Varsity boys runner Lucas Thomas placed 3rd with a time of 16:58. Two additional top twenty runners were Dylan Olvera 16th, and Roberto Netro 19th. Rounding out the team were athletes Ricky Ramirez and Ethan Shaddix. Chapel Hill Varsity girl runner Cecilia Perez took home 6th place for the Red Devils.

Lady Eagles fall in opening home matches The Northeast Texas Community College Lady Eagles soccer team took two tough losses to begin their season last week, falling to the Navarro Bulldogs and the LSU-Bengals in the first two home games of the 2022 campaign.

Tiger Cub Clinic builds foundation for future Lady Tigers

The Lady Tiger volleyball players and coaches hosted their first annual Tiger Cub Clinic last Saturday as a way to introduce up and coming Mount Pleasant athletes to the game of volleyball. The clinic gave an opportunity for the community to interact with the high school players and learn skills such serving, digging, and passing. Participants ranged in age from kindergarten through sixth grade and enjoyed a variety of games and drill work to improve their volleyball skills. “This was a chance for our varsity girls and coaching staff to work with some of our younger fans and introduce them to the game we all love,” said head coach Kristy Ciuba. “It was one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had since being here in Mount Pleasant and we hope to have even more young athletes next time.”
