7th grade falls to Tigers

The Paul Pewitt Junior High football teams opened their home schedule Thursday evening by taking on the Commerce Tigers. In the eighth grade contest, the Brahmas took control of the game from the opening kickoff on their way to a 32-0 win over the Tigers.

Harts Bluff ISD has continued its expansion as its early college high school grows, and on Sept. 11, the district hosted its first annual cross country meet. Many area schools were able to attend. “I am so proud of our Harts Bluff athletes, coaches, and community support from this past weekend.

Lady Tigers take tough loss to begin district

The Mount Pleasant volleyball team couldn’t get anything to go their way last Friday night in their district and home opener versus Sulphur Springs dropping the match in straight sets.

The Pewitt Brahmas scored first and last in their matchup against Mount Vernon Friday. Unfortunately, the Tigers used a 42-0 mid-game run to roll to a 42-16 win over the Brahmas. TIger quarterback Braden Bennett threw for five touchdowns on the night, covering 40, 15, 51, 30 and 40 yards.

McMinn leads to win for junior varsity Tigers

With the varsity Tigers on a bye last week, the JV squad picked up a game versus Liberty-Eylau to stay on track with their development and experience. The Tigers won the game 34-8 behind quarterback Mason McMinn’s dominating performance.

Childs’ play serves as downfall for Rebels

The outcome in Rivercrest’s home opener against Harleton Friday night came down to Childs’ play. More specifically, it came down to Harleton running back Taber Childs’ play.
