Tiger cross country takes first at Pine Tree

The Varsity boys and JV girls both brought home the title last Saturday as both the high school and junior high cross-country teams competed at the Pine Tree Mike Darby Invitational. The Varsity boys posted a team total of 54 points with Jacksonville being the next closest team 12 points behind.

MP freshmen roll over Mt. Vernon, 35-0

The Mount Pleasant Tiger freshman football team hosted Mt Vernon on Thursday night in their last non-district matchup before district play starts next week. The Tigers took control from the get-go, scoring in their opening drive and never looking back for the decisive victory.

Tigers prep for district

It may not be the way the Mount Pleasant Tigers wanted to go into district play, coming off two heartbreaking losses and a cancelation, but the Tigers will kick off district nonetheless when Mount Pleasant travels to Tiger Stadium at Grim Park to take on Texas High Friday night.

Mustangs run away from Rebels, 67-14

The Rivercrest Rebels were hoping to bounce back from a loss in their game against Harleton on the road at Chisum. However, Chisum broke open what was a close game thanks to winning the turnover battle in a 67-14 win over the Rebels.

Geovanni Calderon ran one of his best races of the seasons finishing 8th overall at last weekend’s cross country meet in Hallsville. Calderon finished the 3.1-mile race with an overall time of 17:48 and a mile time of 5:44.
