Brahmas fall in shootout at New Boston

HB splits last two games; Lady Dogs third in district

The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs split their first two games in the second round of district play to remain in third place in District 17-2A’s rankings. Harts Bluff kicked off the second round Friday at Rivercrest, falling to the Lady Rebels, 3-0 (11-25, 17-25, 16-25).

Detroit edges Rivercrest, 3-2; teams tied for first

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels were looking to maintain their hold on first place in District 17-2A with their past two games that marked the start of the second round of district play. In their game Friday at home against Harts Bluff, the Lady Rebels swept the Lady Bulldogs, 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-16).

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils got off to a slower start than they hoped for in the first game of the second round of district. The team bounced back to prove the old adage – “it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.

Mount Pleasant XC completes final tune up at Lindale

The Tiger and Lady Tiger cross country teams competed in their final race of the pre-district schedule last Thursday as they prepare to make a run at a district championship this weekend.

Lady Brahmas fight off Lady Bears, fall in close match at QC

The Pewitt Lady Brahmas remain in the playoff hunt after a win Friday but suffered a setback Tuesday in their race for a playoff berth. The Lady Brahmas triumphed Friday with a five set win at home over DeKalb, 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 2025, 15-10).

Bears’ closing 12-0 run ends nine-year losing streak against Brahmas

It is said that streaks are meant to be broken. Unfortunately for Pewitt Friday, that statement proved to be true in one aspect and delayed in another. The Brahmas took on DeKalb, looking to bounce back from what has been one of the roughest starts to a Pewitt football season ever.
