Tigers coast through Marshall, control own destiny for District Championship

The Mount Pleasant Tigers were forced to move their Friday matchup to Saturday due to adverse weather conditions, but the Tigers showed no ill effects from the delay as they handled Marshall with ease. With the win, Mount Pleasant improved their district mark to 7-2 and are poised to take their third consecutive district championship with three games remaining.

PB1K: Mount Pleasant’s Beard honored for breaking 1,000 point threshold

Mount Pleasant junior guard Paris Beard was recognized prior to the start of the Lady Tigers’ district matchup against Texas High Tuesday. Lady Tigers Uproar program recognized Tuesday

CHAAMP Hawks Junior High soars while Varsity stumbles

The CHAAMP Hawks basketball squads have soared high and fallen low over the past several days. This past Saturday, the Hawks’ Junior High boys traveled to Greenville to participate in a one day tournament. Playing two games in the short event, the Hawks dominated the competition defeating Yantis ISD 43-25 and Community ISD 34-13 on their way to victory. In the first contest, Brandon Wafford led the Hawks with 12 points, while David Harrison added eight to the scoreboard. In the second and final contest, Joe Hefner scored 12 points, Harrison accrued nine, and Johnathan Guyton and Josiah Souza each added five.

Rivercrest squads sweep James Bowie, Linden-Kildare

The Rivercrest Rebels and Lady Rebels recognized their seniors last Tuesday, then went about the work of hammering down playoff berths. Rivercrest’s basketball teams honored their seniors – Lady Rebel Lauren Hardman; Rebels Kamryn English, Darrion RIcks, Kirk Killian and Keaton Sears and basketball manager Donnie Barganski – prior to the start of the varsity games against James Bowie.
