Tigers shut out Lobos in season finale

In a tough 5A Region II, the Mount Pleasant track teams put up a solid showing at this past weekend’s regional track meet, held at the University of Texas-Arlington. Senior Xavier Hills just missed a state berth in the triple jump, finishing third with a jump of 45-6.25.

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers took on Huntsville in their bi-district playoff matchup, played over the weekend at Waxahachie High School. The Lady Tigers fell to the Lady Hornets in the best of three series, 2-0, falling in game one, 14-4 and in game two, 10-0.

Through the fire:

The Harts Bluff baseball program can look back on the 2023 season and recognize the successes they’ve had. They may not have always shown up on the scoresheet, but those successes are blossoming in the program.

The Mount Pleasant Tiger soccer team underwent a trial by fire as a young squad took on a demanding schedule. The Tigers met the challenges and went through the fire to clinch a playoff berth and the coaches of 15-5A recognized six team members with All-District honors.

A Woman’s Touch

Dalton Smith has a knack for finding the big ones and a passion for teaching his guide clients how to wrangle them on Lake O.H. Ivie Reservoir near San Angelo. Last December, Smith made his first ever fishing trip to Texas.

Lady Rebels finish 2nd in district; take on L-K Friday

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels won their final two games of the regular season – 9-0 over Detroit and 4-2 at Alba-Golden – to clinch second place in district. The Lady Rebels open the playoffs at 6 p.m. Friday in a one-game series against Linden-Kildare at LeTourneau University in Longview.
