Rivercrest’s Selena and Diana Kelley and Chapel Hill’s Rhett and Kade Barley both advanced to the state tennis tournament. The Kelleys fell in the quarterfinals to Delaney Dodd-Fernandes and Lailah Solis of Wink, 6-2, 6-2. Kinsley Jordan and Lucy Rochat of Mason won the state championship.

MPHS Tiger Dolls select new officers and sergeants

The MPHS Tiger Dolls held tryouts for Officer and Sergeant positions on Friday, May 5 in the Tiger Doll room at Mount Pleasant High School. The Tiger Doll Officers for the 2023-2024 school year are Captain Genevieve Rubio, Senior Lieutenant Makayla Spigner, and Junior Lieutenant Jalyssa Aguilar.

Rivercrest softball falls in area round series against Frankston

Two towns got the opportunities to see that the future of softball at their respective schools is bright in an area round matchup this week at Winnsboro’s Ballpark at Raiderland.
Team Peckerwood’s James Hillard and Hunter McMillion earned $4740.00 for taking the top spot in the Heaviest Three Fish Stringer division if the “The Op Masters” tournament with three flatheads totaling 116.1 pounds. The 3rd annual benefit tournament raised nearly $15,000 for cancer patient, Megan Kelly.

The Rivercrest Rebels went into their regular season baseball finale needing a win to force a three-way tie for third, but Linden-Kildare jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never let up as Rivercrest fell, 15-1. The loss put a damper on Rivercrest’s senior night festivities as L-K outhit the Rebels, 13-5.
