Tigers take care of business against Hallsville, but upsets prevent playoff berth

Though it was no longer in their hands, the Mount Pleasant Tigers still had a chance at a playoff berth Friday with a win and a Marshall loss to Whitehouse. The Tigers even had an opportunity to finish tied for third in district with a win, a Marshall loss and a Pine Tree loss at Texas High.

The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs returned to the site of their greatest volleyball triumphs Tuesday evening on the heels of their most successful district seasons looking for an encore.

MPHS Bass Fishing team wins tournament on Lake Bob Sandlin

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team continued their fall season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Bob Sandlin on Saturday, October 28. For the first time in team history, an MPHS team won the tournament with a second team placing in the top five.

The Mount Pleasant Tigers still have a shot at a playoff spot, but now face a must-win situation in the season finale.
The Chapel Hill Lady Devils lost a heartbreaker in their playoff opener at Liberty-Eylau’s Rader Dome Monday evening, falling to Hooks, 3-1 (17-25, 18-25, 25-18, 22-25). Chapel Hill finished second in district play and closes the year with an overall record of 22-15.
