Lady Rebels 3rd at NH Tourney, fall at Pittsburg

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels brought home another top three tournament finish last weekend, finishing third at the North Hopkins Tournament. It’s the team’s second consecutive third place tournament finish after last week’s Celeste Tournament and their third top-three tournament finish this season. The team also finished second in the Bland Tournament last month.

Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs take part in Court of Dreams game in Dallas

Two East Texas schools received the opportunity to put up shots in the same arena as current and former Dallas Maverick stars Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and Luka Doncic Wednesday afternoon. Harts Bluff took on McLeod in the Court of Dreams game, played at Dallas’ American Airlines Center, serving as the opening act before that night’s Mavericks game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Hawks cruise by Kings Academy, improve to 8-0

The CHAAMP Hawks men’s basketball team hosted the King’s Academy Knights in Winfield this past Monday night. The Hawks (8-0, 4-0) comfortably defeated the Knights 56-37 to earn their fourth district win of the season.

Harts Bluff ’s Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs made the trip to Dallas’ American Airlines Center as they took on McLeod in the Court of Dreams game Wednesday. It was a family reunion in the boys’ game as Harts Bluff, coached by Bradley Lambeth, took on the Longhorns, coached by his father, Steven Lambeth.

MPHS Bass Fishing Team wraps up semester at Lake Palestine

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team wrapped up first semester tournaments at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Palestine on December 10. Out of 31 schools at the tournament, MPHS placed 7th as a whole.

MPHS Goin’ Gold Band members named to Freshman All-Region Band

Seven members of the Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band were named to the Freshman All-Region Band after auditions on Monday, December 5 at North Lamar High School. MPHS boasted three first chair placements with two members actually being 8th graders at Mount Pleasant Junior High.

Devils 4-1 in Edgewood, win Tuesday over Brahmas

The Chapel Hill Red Devils traveled to Edgewood for the annual Jack Shellnutt Invitational Tournament, finishing 4-1 for the event. The Devils suffered their lone loss in their opening game, falling in overtime against Paris, 70-64.
