Euterpean Club meets

The Euterpean Club of Mount Pleasant gathered in the lovely home of Barbara P. Caldwell on Feb. 15 at 3:45 p.m. to enjoy a program of music titled, “Love, Love, Love.” Caldwell was the most gracious co-hostess and all club members served as co-hostesses.
The 11th-ranked Mount Pleasant soccer team went through most of the first half of district play undefeated to set up a matchup for first place in district against fourth-ranked Longview. The Tigers battled back after falling behind early but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 2-1 loss to the Lobos. The Tigers are 6-1 in district play and take on Hallsville Friday. MPHS Powerlifting continues season at Paris and White Oak

The Mount Pleasant High School Tiger and Lady Tiger Powerlifting teams continued their seasons last week at the Paris and White Oak meets. On Thursday, February 8, team members traveled to Paris with several Varsity boys competing at White Oak on Saturday, February 10.

Devils win district title, await playoff opponent; Lady Devils fall against QC

The Chapel Hill Red Devils had already clinched the 13-3A district title but wanted to continue their winning streak in their season finale Tuesday at Quitman.

For the Mount Pleasant Tigers, there was no time to lament not picking up the district title. The 17th-ranked Tigers would still have a target on their backs in the playoffs and still needed to finish the job in 15-5A.
