MPHS Powerlifters qualify for state

Seventeen individual MPHS Powerlifters qualified and competed in Regional Powerlifting, the Lady Tigers at Pine Tree on February 29 and the Tigers at Tyler Chapel Hill on March 6. Five lifters have qualified for their respective state meets. Senior Araceli Landaverde placed 1st in her weight class.

A historic season for the Chapel Hill Red Devils – one that saw them attain the best record in school history and make their first-ever regional tournament appearance – unfortunately came to an end against the regional tournament’s most experienced team.

It was a memorable season for Mount Pleasant’s high school basketball teams.Four teams were ranked at some point in the year; two finished the season ranked; two made their first-ever playoff appearances and one won their first-ever playoff game.
