The undefeated, sixth (TABC) and fourth (TXHSGBB) ranked Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers shook off a slow start to build a 26-point halftime lead and cruised to an 82-44 win over Nacogodoches in their bidistrict round playoff game at Tyler Legacy High School.

The Bulldogs’ playoff hopes partially rested on another game’s results Friday, but for it to matter, the Bulldogs needed a win over a James Bowie team with their eyes on a shared district title.

A year after a shared district title, the Chapel Hill Red Devils decided they weren’t happy about sharing. The Red Devils have blazed through the 2022-23 basketball season, currently ranked eighth in Class 3A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and third by MaxPreps and will go into the playoffs as sole district champions.
