Mount Pleasant High School swimmers advance to regionals

The Mount Pleasant High School swim team competed at the district meet in Texarkana on Saturday, January 25. MPHS will send nine swimmers in seven events to the regional meet at the New Caney ISD Natatorium on February 7-8.

All three Mount Pleasant High School Winter Guards traveled to Waxahachie High School to continue competition season. The teams attended the North Texas Colorguard Association contest on Saturday, February 1, and came away with two 1st place and one 3rd place finish.

The Mount Pleasant High School Powerlifters continued their season on Friday, January 24 at their home meet held at Mount Pleasant Junior High. The Tigers finished in 2nd place as a team for the second meet in a row with the Lady Tigers placing 4th.

Both the Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams clinched playoff berths last week with victories.The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers clinched a playoff berth on Friday night with a 53-31 victory at Lufkin. The victory pushed Coach Crystal Jackson-James’ squad to 10-5 in District 10-5A and 16-10 overall.
