MPHS cheerleaders place third in competition

The Mount Pleasant High School Cheerleaders competed in the NCA North Dallas Regional in Rockwall on November 7. In the Game Day Coed Varsity division, the cheerleaders placed 1st in band chant, outscoring some 6A teams, and received a perfect score in visual appeal in fight song.

First scrimmage a success for Tigers

The Mount Pleasant Tiger basketball team is still waiting to regain full strength after the football season is over, but the core players are still revving up and preparing for a season that is about to get underway.

While the Rivercrest Rebels missed out on a playoff trip this season, the Rebels still hoped to end their season on a high note. The Rebels finished the season with “one to grow on” after traveling to Honey Grove and holding off the Warriors, 27-21.

Lady Rebel run ends against Cumby in bi-district

On Aug. 27, the Rivercrest Lady Rebels hosted the Cumby Lady Trojans in an early season volleyball match. Cumby won that game, 3-0 (2-25, 18-25, 22-25) Monday, the Lady Rebels and Lady Trojans met again in Sulphur Springs in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
