Rebels hope to finish strong with win at Honey Grove

The Rivercrest Rebels hope to finish their season strong with a win on the road against the Honey Grove Warriors Friday night. District 6-2A Div. I is practically decided after Alba-Golden defeated the Warriors last week. Cooper is 5-0 in district play with their finale this week at Wolfe City.

One Iddy return sparks Brahmas in win

For most of the season, Pewitt’s Iddy Thomas would warn anyone who would listen about the dangers of kicking to him on kickoff returns. “Iddy would say at practice, ‘They better not kick to me!’” Pewitt Head Coach Cedrick Dorsey said. Friday, Thomas got his shot and made it pay off.

Tiger XC finishes sixth at regionals

The Mount Pleasant Tiger cross country team participated in the Region II 5A Cross Country meet on Tuesday held at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie. As a team, the Tigers finished in 6th place overall out of 23 teams with all their runners finishing in the top 50.

Volleyball season ends

JV Tigers still undefeated after 34-13 win over PT

The Mount Pleasant Tiger JV football team found themselves in a battle in the first half against a band of Pine Tree Pirates looking to raid the Tigers’ undefeated record. The Tigers stepped up on both sides of the ball in the second half to keep that record unblemished.

The Tiger and Lady Tiger golf teams finished out their fall season on Tuesday with a tournament held at the Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater. The boys’ team took first place with a team total of 328 narrowly edging out district opponent Hallsville with a 329.

The Harts Bluff Bulldogs traveled to Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie, Texas on October 26, 2021. Both boys and girls teams from Harts Bluff competed in the Region 3 1A race, with both teams finishing 7th place overall out of 18 teams.

Tigers fall short against Mavs, 24-21

Friday night, the Mount Pleasant Tigers did everything one would expect of a victorious team. The Tigers outgained Marshall, 383-239. They took the lead into halftime and took a 24-point lead into the fourth quarter. They kept the Maverick rushing attack and passing game in check.
