Bulldog teams pick up wins over CHESS Knights

The Harts Bluff Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs played in the comfortable confines of Bulldog Gymnasium for just the third time this season as they welcomed the Knights and Lady Knights of Christian Home Educators of Sulphur Springs (CHESS) Tuesday night.

Lady Tigers finish Hoopfest 1-2

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers finished 1-2 in their tenure at the Winnsboro Hoopfest over the weekend. The Lady Tigers rolled past Waskom in their opener, 55-17. The Lady Tigers then lost two close games against Canton, 59-50, and Paris, 50-43.

Lady Devils 2-2 at Winnsboro

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils traveled to Winnsboro for the annual Hoopfest this past weekend, splitting their four games.

Lady Rebels take part in Celeste tournament

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels traveled to Celeste for tournament play but had a rough weekend, dropping their four games, two coming against state-ranked competition.

Lady Brahmas 1-2 at Winnsboro tourney

The Pewitt Lady Brahmas took part in the Winnsboro Hoopfest, going 1-2 for the event. Pewitt lost to eventual tournament champion and 4A’s seventh-ranked Brownsboro in their opening game of the tournament before dropping their second game. Pewitt bounced back with a 50-35 win over Nevada Community.

CHAAMP goes 1-1 in Poetry Community tournament

The Christian Homeschool Athletic Association of Mount Pleasant (CHAAMP) Hawks varsity boys traveled to Terrell for the Poetry Community Christian Tournament, splitting their two games. The Hawks fell to UME Prep of Dallas, 74-47, and defeated the host Pioneers, 64-41.

Red Devils defeat Trojans

Charity stripe woes doom Tigers in OT

The Mount Pleasant Tigers dropped their third straight game on Tuesday evening in front of a raucous crowd at Willie Williams Gym. Royse City fought till the end forcing the game into overtime and downing Mount Pleasant 62-56.

Tigers expected to see familiar faces in proposed new district

Note: the good people at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football recently released redistricting predictions based on the snapshot numbers turned in by the state’s schools. These are merely predictions and one writer’s thoughts on them. The new districts will be announced in February.
