Brahmas win 1, lose 3 close games at Rivercrest Classic

The Pewitt Brahma varsity boys basketball team headed to Rivercrest this past weekend for the annual RIvercrest Classic. Joining the Brahmas at the round-robin tournament were the host Rebels, Winnsboro, Jefferson, Como-Pickton and Chisum.

Red Devils finish 2nd at Tiger Town Tourney

The Chapel Hill Red Devils took part in the Titus Regional Medical Center Tiger Town Tournament, held at Mount Pleasant High School. The Red Devils were part of the small school bracket with Alvarado, Avinger, Bowie, Clarksville, DeKalb, Linden-Kildare and Maud.

Lady Rebels finish 2-2 at home tourney

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels welcomed several teams to Rivercrest Gymnasium as part of the annual Rivercrest Classic. Joining the Lady Rebels were Detroit, LIberty-Eylau JV, Honey Grove, Como-Pickton, Commerce and MIller Grove. The Lady Rebels held off the Liberty-Eylau JV in game one, 36-33.

Rebels finish 3-2 at own tourney

The Rivercrest Rebels welcomed four teams to the annual Rivercrest Classic this past weekend, going 3-2 for the event. Joining the host Rebels were Pewitt, Winnsboro, Jefferson, Como-Pickton and Chisum. The Rebels kicked off the classic with a 75-50 win over Como-Pickton.

Chapel HIll Lady Devils win at Nacogdoches

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils hit the road last week to take on Nacogdoches. The Lady Devils held on to defeat the Lady Dragons, 39-31. Chapel Hill jumped out to a 22-13 lead at halftime and held off a late Nacogdoches charge for the win. Katie Hart led Chapel Hill with 16 points and four steals.

Pinckard steps down as football HC; remains as athletic director

Mount Pleasant Head Football Coach Ritchie Pinckard recently announced he would be stepping down as head coach of the Tigers. Coach Pinckard will remain as the school’s athletic director. “I felt it was the best move for my coaches and my family at this time,” Coach Pinckard said.

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team continued their regular season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Fork on November 13. First for the Tigers, the team of Clayton Miller and Cody Slone placed 55th out of 128 teams with fish weighing 2.08 lbs.
