Last weekend’s Titus Regional Medical Center Tiger Town Tournament brought together 12 teams from across the region in small and large school divisions. In the large school pool were Mount Pleasant, Longview, Nacogdoches, Denton Braswell and Dallas Lincoln.

Tigers clobber Jefferson, 83-37

The Mount Pleasant Tigers pushed their win streak to four games on Tuesday night as they easily handled the Jefferson Bulldogs in a non-district matchup. Every player scored for the Tigers as they controlled the game from the tip.

Red Devils ground Hawks, 53-33

The Chapel Hill Red Devils used an offensively effective second and third quarter to ground the Pleasant Grove Hawks, 53- 33, Tuesday night. The Devils outscored PG in the middle quarters, 21- 13, then topped it with an 18-point fourth quarter on their way to the victory.

Lady Tigers stomp Sulphur Springs to open district, 73-25

The Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers wasted no time in making a statement on Tuesday night with their district opening victory over the Lady Wildcats. The Lady Tigers jumped out to an 11-7 advantage before using a 12-0 run late in the second quarter to blow the game wide open.

Tiger now part of the pack: McCrumby signs with Red Wolves

During the course of the 2021 football season, Mount Pleasant wide receiver Miller McCrumby made several highlight catches. He admitted that one was planned. “I can’t even lie, the first time I caught it and hurdled someone, I did it for the highlight,” he said.

Sic ‘em, Tre: Emory signs with Baylor Bears

In 2020, after suffering a season-ending injury, Tre Emory admitted nights like Wednesday’s seemed just out of reach. “It was hard when I was in the hospital,” he said “I almost gave up but I remembered I had a future to live for so I couldn’t give up.
