Thompson cranks walk off homer, Tigers one game closer to playoff berth

The Mount Pleasant Tigers moved their magic number to 1 on Friday with a walk-off 6-4 victory over second place Texas High. The win was a much-needed emotional boost as the Tigers were coming off a threegame losing streak and 14-5 drubbing the last time the Tigers faced Texas High.

CHAAMP heads down the stretch strong, routs Excel Christian

Last Friday the CHAAMP Hawks played their final home game of the year, routing the Excel Christian Eagles 11-1 in a game that was ended after only five innings due to the mercy rule. The Hawks jumped on the Eagles right from the get-go, scoring five runs in the first two innings.

Longview edges MP softball in third place playoff

Perhaps it was unsurprising that the playoff seeding game between the Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers and Longview Lady Lobos came down to the wire again.

Pewitt sends 11 to regional meet; three CH athletes to regionals

The Pewitt and Chapel Hill track teams both headed to Winnsboro Wednesday for the 13/14-3A Area Track Meet, looking to send athletes to next week’s 3A Region II track meet. Pewitt ended up with 11 athletes advancing to regionals while Chapel Hill had three athletes advance.

Rivercrest to send 11 athletes to regional track meet

A total of 11 Rivercrest track athletes qualified for the upcoming regional track meet by virtue of their finishes at Wednesday’s area track meet in Cooper. The Rebels and Lady Rebels claimed two area titles, two second place finishes and a third place finish.

Lady Rebels fall in battle for first; to meet James Bowie in bi-district

The Rivercrest Lady Rebels had a lot to play for in their final regular season game at Como-Pickton, with a share of the district title and a chance at the top seed in the district on the line. Unfortunately, Como-Pickton also had much to play for.

Former Tiger standout Chism-Okoh signs with D-I Evansville

After spending the last year at Link Year Prep, former Tiger Basketball and All-State star Zaveion Chism-Okoh signed a letter of intent this past week to join the Evansville Purple Aces.

Lady Devils edged in battle for 2nd in district

The Chapel Hill Lady Red Devils went into Tuesday’s game celebrating their seniors – Persefany Rodriguez, Cindy Soto, Emma Pugsly and Presley Applegate – and knowing that a win would put them in a tie for second in district with their opponent – the Winnsboro Lady Raiders.
