For many across Northeast Texas and the whole state, football is king and always will be. But, across our country and right here in Titus County, there is an ever growing population that loves another sport, also known around the world as football. The sport, better known here as soccer, has been a Summer Olympics sport for over 100 years, with women’s soccer joining the Olympics in 1996 at Atlanta. Millions of Americans now play the sport, and the sport grows in popularity with each passing day.

Tre Emory commits to Baylor Bears

Mount Pleasant’s Tre Emory will soon enough put down the black and gold and move on to green and white. Emory, who is in the MPHS class of 2022, has received numerous offers from some of the top schools in the country and has now committed to Baylor University.

The 31st annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament has come and gone, and the proceeds were bigger than ever. On Monday, 23 teams competed for the trophy and the scores were so close that one point made all the difference.

The 31st annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament benefitting Mount Pleasant Habitat for Humanity took place on Monday, July 19 at the Mount Pleasant Country Club. The event is a 4-person scramble and will began with a shot gun start at 1 p.m.

TCSA teams are undefeated District champions

Titus County Softball Association is very proud to announce the achievement of their 6U, 8U, and 10U All-Star Teams. Each team battled their way through the Ranger District Softball Tournament June 11th-14th with all coming home as Undefeated-District Champions. These victories awarded them a ticket to play at the Ranger State Tournament held June 25-28. All three teams competed against some of the toughest teams in the State. All teams gave it their all and walked away as winners. 6U placed 4th, 8U & 10U held their undefeated record and both won 1st place. TCSA is honored to have the opportunity to lead players with as much heart and dedication as these children have.
