Tigers fall in 3-game series against Nac, 2-1

The Mount Pleasant Tigers could have been called the “Cardiac Cats” this season with several games coming down to the wire and wins coming in the game’s final at-bats. That spirit and unwillingness to give up served the Tigers well in their bi-district playoff series against Nacogdoches.

Tiger Swim qualifies three for Academic All-State

The Mount Pleasant swim team not only succeeds in the water but also in the classroom as they had three of their swimmers make the Academic All-State team for the 2021-2022 season. To qualify, student athletes must maintain at least 3.75 GPA as a junior or senior.

Barkley named TABC Assistant Coach of the Year

Mount Pleasant High School Assistant Basketball Coach, Drew Barkley, has been named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC), an award granted to only eight coaches across the state.

Lady Devils fall to 12th-ranked Hooks in deciding game

After coming to a stalemate in the series’ first two games, the Chapel Hill Lady Red Devils and Hooks Lady Hornets needed one more game to determine which team headed to the area round of the softball playoffs. Unfortunately, it was game three where the stateranked squad proved its mettle.

CH doubles duo finishes in top-4 in state

The Chapel Hill boys doubles tennis team of Braden Buchanan and Vincent Rodriguez found themselves in the hunt for a state championship at last week’s UIL State Tennis Tournament. The Region II champions made the semifinals, but fell to Levi Weertman and Tobi Ellis of Peaster.
