DIstrict dissertations: Rivercrest, Harts Bluff part of new 17-2A volleyball district

Every two years, UIL schools go through the biannual redistricting process, where some schools switch classifications and receive new neighbors in their districts. Most of the attention is placed on the new football districts.

MPHS Cheerleaders attend camp at The University of Oklahoma

The Mount Pleasant High School Cheerleaders attended a National Cheer Association (NCA) leadership camp at The University of Oklahoma from May 31-June 3. While at camp, the team received the Spirit Stick, Best Rally Routine, Best Game Day routine, and an NCA Nationals bid.

MPHS Tiger Doll Officers and Sergeants bring home awards from camp

The 2022-2023 Tiger Doll Officers and Sergeants attended an American Dance/ Drill Team officer camp from June 6-8 at the Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront hotel. They participated in numerous dance and leadership sessions, created their own choreography, and planned team events for the upcoming year.

Rivercrest Football Camp set for June 27-28

Future classes of Rivercrest Rebels will get the opportunity to roam The Swamp and learn or hone up on the fundamentals during the annual Rivercrest football camp. The camp is for incoming 2nd-8th graders and will take place June 27-28.

MPJH Cheerleaders win awards at camp

The Mount Pleasant Junior High School Cheerleaders attended a Universal Cheer Association (UCA) home camp in the junior high gym on May 23-25. The squad learned cheers, chants, and band chants for the 2022 football season. Eight cheerleaders earned individual accolades.

CH’s Applegate selected to Red River FCA All-Star Showdown

Presley Applegate, 2022 Chapel Hill High School graduate, has been selected to play in the 2022 Red River Fellowship of Christan Athletes (FCA) All Star Softball Showdown game on Wednesday, June 15 in Texarkana.

MPHS senior named TGCA Legacy All Star

Mount Pleasant High School senior, Ladi’roliairty Guereca, has been selected as a member of the 5A/6A Legacy All-Star Track and Field team by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Rebels recognized with release of all-district team

After battling to a playoff spot in a hyper-competitive 17-2A, several members of the Rivercrest Rebels were recognized by the coaches with the release of the all-district team. Sophomore Connor Young was named district Pitcher of the Year.

Lady Devils and coaching staff recognized on all-district team

The Chapel Hill Lady Devils doubtlessly impressed the coaches in District 13-3A during a season where they battled for the district title up until the final week of the season and battled for second place in the regular season finale.
