Stabbing suspect charged with assault

At roughly 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 21, Mount Pleasant Police answered a call reporting a man was injured by a stab wound at the Holiday Inn.Police officers arrived on the scene, finding the victim in the hotel’s lobby with a knife wound to the back. The suspect was not present at the time.

Ethics Complaint on Council Member

At the November 18, 2025, regular City Council meeting, the Mt. Pleasant City Council voted to hire a third-party, independent investigator to investigate an ethics complaint filed against City Council member Melanie Tafoya on November 12, 2025, by a member of the public.

Community shops at Holiday Bazaar

On Friday and Saturday of last week, residents and visitors of Mount Pleasant had the opportunity to shop from over 30 vendors at the annual Deck the Halls Holiday Bazaar. This tradition is presented by the Mount Pleasant/Titus County Chamber of Commerce.

Trans Ams take over Fair Grounds

Mount Pleasant welcomed car enthusiasts at the Trans Am Takeover car show on Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 held at the Titus County Fair Grounds. The event was presented by Legendary Concepts in collaboration with Giving Cheerfully, East Bound and Down, and Carroll Shelby Automotive Institute.

MPHS UIL wraps fall season at Whitehouse Thanksgiving Classic

The full Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team completed its fall season on Saturday, November 8 at the 20th annual Whitehouse Thanksgiving Classic. MPHS won three 1st place category awards, two 2nd place team awards, and numerous individual medals.
