Online safety tips for kids

It’s hard to believe, but summer break has come to an end. And as parents and teachers prepare for the upcoming school year, BBB wants to help you help your children stay safe and provides the following tips to help ensure your safety and the safety of those you love.

Help keep kids safe in school zones with these simple steps

ATLANTA –Texas students are strapping on their favorite backpacks filled with supplies and the hope of a new year, and TxDOT is calling on everyone to be extra cautious in school zones and around school buses to help keep kids safe.

Support local, buy local

Karen Roper is the market manager for the market days hosted at the Old Union Community Center. These markets are held monthly on the third Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The third market day will be Aug. 19; the market season for them is May through October.

Arrests

There are 150 inmates in jail with 130 males and 20 females. Since Aug. 8, the following have been booked into the jail: Aug. 9 • JessicaE.Yepez,24 of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested for Assault. • BrandonA.Daniels, 53 of Dekalb, was arrested on a warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
