MPISD to serve free breakfast, lunches

The Mount Pleasant Independent School District announced it will operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program at all of the district campuses for the 2023-2024 school year.

American National Bank surprised each of the new teachers at Mount Pleasant ISD with a $100 grant to help them set up their new classrooms. Sheila Donnelly, American National Bank President, presented $4400 from the bank to the MPISD Education Foundation and each new teacher received a $100 check at the annual MPISD Convocation. The first day of school for Mount Pleasant ISD was Wednesday, Aug.16.

Northeast Texas Community College celebrated its August 2023 commencement on Friday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center.
There were 95 total graduates (not all were in attendance) who received 69 degrees and 50 certificates of competency.
