Halloween is often just what the doctor ordered. Nestled between the start of a new school year and the arrival of the holiday season, Halloween is an opportunity for children and adults alike to have some fun as they dress up in costumes and indulge in some sweet treats.

Council votes to repeal juvenile curfew amid new law

The Mount Pleasant City Council recently approved the repeal of the juvenile curfew. According to reports, the original curfew ordiance had been in place since 2009, but a new state law recently put into effect bans local government to enact curfews to minors.

Northeast Texas Community College held its 35th annual Scare Affair Halloween event on Saturday, Oct. 21st. Scare Affair is the college’s top fundraising event of the year for student organizations. Almost $7,500 was raised by student clubs.

Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band wins again

The Mount Pleasant High School Goin’ Gold Band competed at the US Bands Ark-La-Tex Regional marching contest in Bossier City, LA on Saturday, October 21. The competition featured 15 bands from Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
