Dressed in their Sunday best, seven girls and two boys took to the stage at Frances Corprew Elementary school for the Youth Empowerment Showcase, presented by the Lady Mujaji Social and Civic Club.

County to petition FCC

County commissioners have voted to petition the Federal Communications Commission to receive local channels through KLTV in Tyler. Currently, Titus County receives channels from Shreveport, Louisiana.

Early voting begins next week for uniform election

Early voting begins Monday, April 22 for the May 4 uniform election, and will end on April 30. Early Voting will be held at the Titus County Elections Office for all precincts, April 22-26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 29-30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Friday, Trekkies gathered at the Mount Pleasant Public Library and boldly watched and crafted like no man has done before. The library staff played the 1996 film ‘Star Trek: First Contact’. While listening to Patrick Stewart, Trekkies created their own mini versions of the U.S.S.
