MPJH Cheerleaders compete in National competition

The Mount Pleasant Junior High School Cheerleaders participated in their first Nationals at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas on January 21-23. In the Junior High/Middle School Game Day division, MPJH placed 4th out of nine teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.

MPHS UIL takes team championship at Whitehouse

The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team continued its season on Friday and Saturday, January 27-28 at the 16th annual Whitehouse Wildcat Winter Games held at Whitehouse High School. Overall, out of six schools in the large school division at the meet, Mount Pleasant High School took first place as a team with 354 points, a full 128 points ahead of the second place team. Five teams including Current Events, Mathematics, Social Studies, Spelling, and Calculator Applications all took 1st place team honors in their respective events.

TCSO seeks help with ATV theft

Titus County Sheriff’s Investigators are asking the public’s help with any information related to a recent theft of an ATV. Sometime between Monday January 23rd, and Thursday January 26th, 2023, someone entered onto a property located on the 300 Block of Titus County Road CR 4231 and stole an ATV from the backyard of a residence.

State seeks weather damage information

The Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) is asking individuals to report damages resulting from this week’s severe winter weather at: damage.tdem.texas.gov. City and county officials are also being asked to report infrastructure losses, damages and response costs (personnel/equipment).
