Mount Pleasant High School Tiger Dolls compete in Rockwall

The Mount Pleasant High School Tiger Dolls attended their first competition of the year at the American Dance/Drill Team North Texas Regionals at Rockwall Heath High School on Saturday, February 4. In total, the Dolls brought home seventeen awards.

Mount Pleasant ISD Winter Guards continue winning season

All four MPISD Winter Guard teams were back on the competition floor at Independence High School in Frisco on Saturday, February 4 for their second Winter Guard competition of the season at the North Texas Colorguard Association contest. Mount Pleasant ISD has a Winter Guard team at Mount Pleasant Junior High and three at Mount Pleasant High School including the Varsity, JV A, and JV B teams. Mount Pleasant High School Varsity placed 2nd out of nine teams in the National A classification, scoring well ahead of several 6A programs. Their 2023 show is titled “Running Circles ‘Round My Mind.”

While the notion was tantamount to idiotic in my thinkin, I decided to do a little studying on the subject, and found out directly that those who take it upon themselves to call others false prophets might need to do a little more Bible reading.

Dr. Ron Clinton benefit piano concert planned for February 5th

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College is pleased to announce that it will host a benefit piano concert by NTCC President Dr. Ron Clinton on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the NTCC Foundation.

Outdoors Writer Brookeland’s Dakota Ebare sealed the deal on his first pro level win with a final- round limit weighing 32-4 in the MLF Toyota Series Southwestern Division season opener held January 25-27 on Sam Rayburn. Ebare ended the weather-shortened derby with a two-day total of 48-10 and banked $80,500, including a $35,000 Phoenix Boats bonus.
