On Thursday, July 4th, it was a stifling hot and humid Independence Day at the most northwestern edge of Titus County, where the small town of Talco got together to put on their annual Talco Independence Day Fireworks Show.According to the city, this event started over 35 years ago.

All four agenda items were approved during a Mount Pleasant city council meeting on Tuesday, July 2, including a project to replace outdated water meters.Several representatives approached the dais and spoke about their topics for the council and Mayor to decide on.
