Tree lighting commences holiday season

The annual lighting of the Christmas tree downtown was held on Nov. 19. Hosted by the City of Mount Pleasant, the official first lighting of the tree and other decorations signifies the holiday season and allows the community to celebrate as one.

Children’s laughter and splashing rang across Oaklawn Park on the afternoon of Friday, June 14, as the Family Juneteenth Celebration kicked off. Water rides, splash pads, and free snow cones kept the heat at bay; a petting zoo and pony rides brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
