First scrimmage a success for Tigers

The Mount Pleasant Tiger basketball team is still waiting to regain full strength after the football season is over, but the core players are still revving up and preparing for a season that is about to get underway. The Tigers traveled to Tyler Chapel Hill last Saturday to compete in their first scrimmage against the host school and Nacogdoches.

Rebels finish strong with win at Honey Grove

While the Rivercrest Rebels missed out on a playoff trip this season, the Rebels still hoped to end their season on a high note. The Rebels finished the season with “one to grow on” after traveling to Honey Grove and holding off the Warriors, 27-21.

Lady Brahmas hang tough, fall short against state-ranked Harmony

For some, it may have been easy to look at the first round volleyball playoff matchup between Paul Pewitt and Harmony and write one team off. After all, the Lady Brahmas finished fourth in district while the Lady Eagles came into the game with only three losses -- all to state-ranked competition, came in ranked 12th in the state and only lost four sets in district play and only 17 to that point all season.

NTCC rodeo results from McNeese State University

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team followed up the home Rodeo with a trip to South Louisiana to the McNeese State University Rodeo in Lake Charles, Louisiana October 29-30. The Women’s team brought home a 4th place finish thanks to strong showings from Taylor Decosta (Kaneohe, Hawaii) in Barrell Racing and a first-place finish from Jessee Young (Paris, Texas) in the Breakaway Roping.
