Lady Devils roll past Hooks, met Tatum Friday; Red Devils open playoffs next week

It was a successful week on the hardwood at the Hill. The Chapel Hill Lady Devils rolled in their playoff game Monday night against Hooks at Paris. The next night, the Red Devils finished their undefeated district run with a win over Quitman on Senior Night.

Lady Tiger golf wins Mount Pleasant Invitational

The MPHS Lady Tigers golf team played in the Mount Pleasant Invitational on Monday, February 13th. Despite very wet course conditions, the team took home 1st place with a score of 385, dominating Longview with a 419 and Paris with a 427.

Rebels fall in finale at Maud, open playoffs against North Hopkins Tuesday

The Rivercrest Rebels were looking to reach the playoffs with momentum. They weren’t able to improve their position going into the “second season,” but a season sweep over fellow playoff team Maud would have provided a boost going into a playoff matchup with North Hopkins.

Red Devils fall at SS, put up 10 against L-E

The Chapel Hill Red Devil soccer team took the field over the past week, hitting the road to take on the district frontrunners in one of their two games. In the game against district leader Sulphur Springs, the Devils played a close game against the Wildcats in the first half.

Tiger, Lady Tiger soccer teams in playoff position as first half of district

Mount Pleasant’s soccer teams find themselves in the midst of a battle for playoff positioning in a strong 15-5A. The Tiger boys went 2-1 in their last three district games. The Tigers picked up a tight 3-2 win over Pine Tree off a game winner in extra time by John Zelaya.

Rebels fall at Clarksville, clinch playoff spot with win at Detroit

The Rivercrest Rebels bounced back from close losses in their first three district games to give themselves a shot at a playoff berth as the season neared its end.

Lady Rebels fall to Clarksville in district finale, district playoff

It is said that styles make fights. The three meetings between the Rivercrest Lady Rebels and Clarksville Lady Tigers proved that adage correct. Rivercrest, with their shooting, won round one at home earlier in the district slate.

Devils, Lady Devils continue playoff runs

Mineola led after the first quarter, 14-4, but Chapel Hill battled back and finished the game by outscoring the Yellowjackets in the second half, 30-14. Buchanan led Chapel Hill with 22 points, two rebounds and three assists.
