Bates Headed to Paris JC

Lady Tiger basketball standout Kenya Bates recently signed a letter of intent to continue her playing career with Paris Junior College. Bates was this season's district Defensive MVP and led the Lady Tigers to a second place district finish and the second round of the UIL playoffs. She was the leading scorer at 14.3 points per game and also led the team in rebounds at 8.9 per game. "Kenya has yet to reach her potential and has a very high ceiling, " said Lady Tiger Head Coach Tina Carrillo. "We will miss her dominance in the the paint but I'm excited she's close enough for us to watch her play." Bates will look to bolster a Lady Dragon team that finished 10-17 last season and finished seventh in Region XIV.
