The Lady Tiger powerlifting team traveled to Whitehouse last Wednesday to compete in the regional powerlifting meet. The Lady Tiger team is comprised of fourteen total members, of which ten qualified for regionals. Out of those ten lifters, three lifters including senior Ashlynn Brooks, senior Jalissa Alvarez, and sophomore Nayeli Jaimes qualified for the state meet.
The Lady Tigers improved their district record to 2-0 by blanking Marshall 10-0 at Lady Tiger Field. Mount Pleasant (11-4, 2-0) scored in four of the five innings played and could have put more runs on the board had the run rule not been put into effect. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, as Carson Zachry and BreAsia Hargrave reached on a walk and hit by pitch. Zachry scored on a ground out by Jalissa Alvarez. The Chapel Hill Red Devils and Lady Devils cleaned house at the Sulphur Springs Golf tournament this past Monday. In the Boys Division both Tristan Davis and Cameron Thomas tied for 1st place in the tournament carding a 83 each. Closely behind them was Derek Jones with an 88 and Drew Hughes with a 102. The Red Devils also took 1st Place as a team scoring a 356 between the four young men.
The Chapel Hill Lady Devils softball team traveled to New Boston to play in the McDonald’s Softball Tournament. After many delays, bad weather, rained out games, the Lady Devils got to take the field to showcase their talent. This year they are lead by first year Head Coach Troy Wallace who already has them going in the right direction.
The Mount Pleasant Tiger basketball team was well represented in the District 15-5A All-District selections with an incredible 27-1 season that ended on Tuesday. The Tigers had all their starters recognized for their accomplishments along with several key role players.
