The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs returned to the site of their greatest volleyball triumphs Tuesday evening on the heels of their most successful district seasons looking for an encore. After finishing second in district play, the Lady Bulldogs returned to the playoffs, playing their bi-district round matchup at Pittsburg’s Jack Arnwine Gymnasium for the second consecutive year.

MPHS Bass Fishing team wins tournament on Lake Bob Sandlin

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team continued their fall season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Bob Sandlin on Saturday, October 28. For the first time in team history, an MPHS team won the tournament with a second team placing in the top five. Mount Pleasant High School ranked first among all 28 schools with a total of 11 fish weighing 36.59 pounds, netting them a trophy for the school to display, scholarships, and gift cards.

Mount Pleasant could have clinched a spot in the playoffs with a win Friday, but another team facing a must-win situation – the Pine Tree Pirates – used a big second half performance to pull away from the Tigers and pick up a 42-14 win.
