The Mount Pleasant Tiger basketball team continues to roll setting a new mark for wins in a season at 31 by defeating Whitehouse last Tuesday.
The Mount Pleasant Tigers played a warmup game Friday night in preparation for Tuesday night's bi-district matchup with Whitehouse improving their record to 30-3 on the season. The Tigers trav-eled to Gary High School for the playoff preview showcase that featured teams from across Central and East Texas with games also being played at Tenaha High School. Matched with a perennial playoff team in 4A Lufkin Hudson (28-4, 5-3), the game gave the Tigers great competition with some new energy playing against a non-district opponent for the first time in 2 months. The Tigers set their season-high in scoring with an 84-56 victory.
The first powerlifting meet of the year was not as rewarding as the Tigers would have hoped, but they still found some success.
The Mount Pleasant Tigers secured their second district championship under head coach Joey Chism Tuesday night with a 55-51 victory over Greenville.
The Chapel Hill Lady Devils picked up a home win raining three point field goals all over the court against Chisum Friday. The Lady Devils made 19 three’s in all.
