The Camp County Sheriff ’s Office arrested Tyrek Caucasea Neal on Nov. 23 in connection with the murder of Makayla Goodson. According to the arrest affidavit, Neal owed Goodson $200 and made arrangements to pay her at her home on Nov. 5.

The Mount Pleasant High School senior class recently selected Tre Emory and Mireya Villarruel as the 2021-2022 Mr. and Miss MPHS. Each year the senior class selects a senior boy and senior girl who represent the ideals and standards of MPHS.

Four bridges to be replaced

Four bridges on US Highway 271 in Titus County will be replaced early next year according to plans approved in November by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Bridges include those over Dickson Creek, Big Slough Creek, White Oak Creek and White Oak Creek Relief.

Carroll Shelby Foundation donates to NTXAD

The Carroll Shelby Foundation™ (CSF) is donating $15,000 in scholarship funding to the winning high school team at the North Texas Automobile Dealers (NTXAD) Auto Tech Competition. Senior Auto Tech students representing North Texas high schools will compete for scholarships and prizes on Dec. 4, 2021, at the Indy Garage inside the legendary Texas Motor Speedway.
