Federal red snapper season closes Sept. 1

AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will close the private recreational angler red snapper season in federal waters at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 1.

Longtime owner of The Naples Monitor dies at 85

Morris Garland Craig, a name synonymous with The Naples Monitor newspaper for 67 years, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his home in Naples at the age of 85. Craig was born December 24, 1937, in Douglassville, Texas, to Hardman Craig and Dovie Lee Kennedy Craig.
