The NTCC Art Department hosted an artist reception with Frank Herbert on Wednesday in the Whatley Center foyer. Herbert’s art will remain on display in the Whatley gallery through Thursday, September 21st. The exhibit is free to view during regular college business hours.

The Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology program has chosen its officers for the 2023-2024 school year. Leading the group are Senior President McKinsee Oviedo, Senior Vice President Elva Garcia, Junior President Raquel Martinez, and Junior Vice President Dori Macedo.
Art Weston of Union, Kentucky with the 283 pound alligator gar he caught and released on September 2 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir. For comparison, Weston stands 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. Pending certification by the International Game Fish Association, the magnificent fish should eclipse the IGFA All-Tackle world record of 279 pounds that has stood for nearly 72 years.
